Spoiler — you’re the one who knows )
What is better?
It is impossible to say what is better warm or soft. You know it depends on you strong sides and skills. I personally distinguish these two professions by the
level of communication
needed.
Manager
I guess that a manager should be more an extravert and easy-going.
Someone who easily builds contacts with other people and has an ability to motivate and organize them.
A manager is a someone who builds business around himself and at the same time feels the collective goal. It is a great job if you obtain all mentioned qualities and ready to be one of the team-leaders.
Software engineer
A software engineer at Eulerr, home for developers teams, is someone who is more focused on the production rather than on communication.
He is more likely to be an introvert person.
It is important that software developer codes and can not be easily distracted by external factors.
The feeling of collective goal is important here as well but from that point of view that he is more of a contributor than project manager.
Be brave enough to try something new!
Nevertheless, saying that the two professions are for different kind of people may be my not exact point.
These two jobs are both great and suits different people.
What I have learnt at Eulerr is that you can change yourself and then change the position.
So, when time pasts and you obtain more experience you may grow into a manager or a software engineer as both of that positions are important here and receive equal respect and payback.
